Climate Change and Global Security

Climate change is projected to lead to a hotter globe, more frequent days of extreme heat, and warmer oceans. Global annual average temperature measured over both land and oceans has increased by about 1.8°F (1.0°C) according to a linear trend from 1901 to 2016. Without significant changes in global emissions, annual average global temperatures could increase by 9°F (5°C) or more by the end of this.
