Rodent-Carried Illnesses and the Factors Increasing Risk of Exposure

During 2018, California experienced a much larger outbreak of typhus than previous years.1 Typhus is a bacteria that causes a variety of symptoms, including aches, fever, nausea, vomiting, and if left untreated serious organ damage. Additionally, other illnesses have begun to appear in the same or similar areas, such as typhoid.
